Zhan Zhuang is Pile-Standing Exercise and we practice it both as a part of our Yiquan program and also in our Neigong. The concept of mainly focused on standing still and let "life force" circulate in body. Actually, when people talk about exercise, usually them nean something active and dynamic. So, when they hear Zhan Zhuang, an exercise based on standing without moving, they are puzzled. But, in fact the benefits of this exercise system is very clear. The positive effects of Meditation can be seen in Zhan Zhuang as well. Besides this, there are much more physical benefits too. Wang Xiangzhai, the founder of Yiquan, focused on healing aspect of Zhan Zhuang at the last period of his life and he worked at several hospitals. Martial advantages of Zhan Zhuang can be seen after a regular practice, everyday increase standing time a little more.
